Pf + (Preferred Plus): a rate for a person with very preferred health. A carrier offering a P+ premiums also offers preferred and regular health rates. Pf premiums are easier to qualify for, while Rg premiums are much easier to qualify for.

R+ (Regular Plus): a rate for a person in somewhat better health than regular (Rg), but not what the life insurance industry usually terms "preferred health". A company offering an R+ premium also offers a regular (Rg) health premium. Rg premiums are easier to qualify for.

Rg (Regular): a rate for someone in normal health who does not have any medical/life style conditions that increase their future risk of dying.

A "Preferred Plus" health premium has smaller premiums compared to that company's Preferred price. Preferred plus uses the criteria mentioned above, however, the criteria are applied more rigorously. Most carriers will not offer Preferred Plus rates to smokers.
